Your recovery story made me cry just now. I've so been there after I'd thought I'd "been there done that." I think that's the part that really gets me sometimes. The idea of recovery as permanent and unfortunately experiencing otherwise. Like duh I know it's really not that simple, but it always comes as a shock nonetheless. I love you for telling your story and for being you.

I love you for being you and I’m super grateful to have babes like you in my life.

It’s like that one Hyperbole and a Half about being an adult. You don’t win a trophy for recovery, but shits a lot easier when you stop doing everything at once like you’re going to get one and respect the pace you need to set for yourself to heal.

<3 always here for you

Trigger Warning: Eating Disorders
Recovery Record is a free iPhone and Android app that got brought to my attention by the lovely and amazing Fat Nutritionist. A zero pressure food and emotion journal, it keeps you accountable to your journey with realistic goal setting, gentle reminders, and surprisingly not-cheesy rewards for staying engaged with your recovery. It is as discrete as you need it to be, can be customized to avoid triggering language, and has some really useful CBT tools built in for recording and challenging intrusive thoughts.
I super highly recommend that anyone who is looking for eating support or is trying to learn how to support someone in recovery check out Recovery Record. It’s fucking fantastic.
