I’m sincerely flattered that y’all want to get to know me even better and reach out to me on my social networking sites. It means a lot because I really do care about each of you and enjoy connecting with like-minded folks.
Even though I share so much of myself here, there are certain places where it’s important for me to maintain some illusion of privacy. It’s not because I don’t like you or I don’t want to get to know you, and it’s certainly not because I think I’m fancy; it’s because I want to protect you folks from knowing how boring I really am.
It is also because I have had a handful of people react really, really strongly this week when I didn’t accept their requests immediately, and that is both silly and scary to me.
I’m happy to connect on twitter (@madamradams) and talk more here, but Facebook is a space for people from High School I don’t give a crap about, Instagram often contains private information, and LinkedIn is for my colleagues. Anything that you’d have even the slightest hint of interest in will probably get cross posted anyway.
I hope that makes sense. Thanks for respecting that boundary.

Hear hear! I have people who get really shitty at me when I don’t accept their FB requests. Can I not have ANY online spaces that are for me to create an environment of trusted friends?
