You must be new…
How tall are you?
-I’m 5 foot 11.
What size do you wear?
-I usually wear a US18/UK22; my measurments are 48-40-50.
How much do you weigh?
-I honestly don’t know. I do not find value in monitoring my weight, so I do not weigh myself. The only time it happens is at my annual physical. Frankly, the number doesn’t mean anything to me, so I tend to forget it. Based on my shoddy memories, I’d estimate I weigh somewhere between 240 and 270lbs. So. Let’s call it 255?
omg. really?
-Really. And that is all subject to change, in either direction, because that’s what bodies do. And that’s all really okay. Really.
Do you at least maintain a healthy lifestyle? Do you exercise? Do you eat “healthfully?”
-I maintain a lifestyle that is healthy (physically, emotionally, and spiritually) for me the best that I am able. It is important to remember, however, that being or acting in a way that one person or society may define as being “healthy” is in no way a moral imperative nor is it a possibility for everyone.
I do it because I like it. I take joy in movement and physical exertion when the mood strikes and practice normal eating. I’m a big believer in HAES and think that it’s important to trust my body to tell me what it is that it needs— I’m privileged to be able to typically understand and meet those needs.
BUT BEING FAT IS GOING TO KILLLLL YOOOOUUUUUU!!!1
-No. Being fat is probably not going to kill me as a stand alone factor, thanks for your concern. However, the things I used to do to try to make myself not fat, to no avail, almost certainly will!
Let’s please remember that, no matter how we care for our bodies, we will all some day die. Please use this acknowledgment of our human mortality as an extra reason (in case you can’t see simply existing as being sufficient) to be kind to each other.
Where do you shop?
-Most of my clothes come from Target, thrift stores, ASOS and Dorothy Perkins. Like they account for about 99% of my wardrobe. I supplement some from Marshall’s/TJMaxx, Kohls, Etsy, and Sears, too. There are about a BILLION other blogs that do a better job at providing more comprehensive lists of stores. I suggest tracking the “fatshion” tag on tumblr.
Who did/does your tattoo(s)?
Most are the handiwork of Esther Garcia. I am working more and more with Evie Yappelli, who did my butt bows. She’s fantastic and talented and has the prettiest eyelashes and is on tumblr.
Who does your hair?
- I’ve swapped stylists and am now with Seven at Art+Science in Wicker Park. She’s great. BUT. Any impulsive bangs or shoddy color jobs are probably my own handiwork, though.
Additionally— may I recommend to you Barbara & Barbara. It’s a queer and woman owned hair salon in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood that does super cheap cuts (they start at $20!!).
Why don’t you follow me/did you stop following me?
-I maintain a SWF dash, and that limits who I can follow a LOT. Two, it is entirely possible that I do not like your blog. Sorry that I am not sorry.
What do you do for a living?
-I am director of customer service for a music television network. I also bake pies.
How old are you?
